In my childhoold, I cherished the book, Two Years' Vacation by Jule Verne and read it over several times.	어릴 적에 저는 쥘 베른이 쓴 15 (보통 '십오'라고 읽습니다.) 소년 표류기를 좋아해서 여러 번 읽었습니다.
It is a story about fifteen boys - fourteen of them being boarding school students in New Zealand and one a prospective sailor - who accidentally drifted in a ship to a desert island and spent two years there waiting to be rescued.	그 이야기는 15 (열다섯)명의 소년들이 (그 중 14 (열네)명은 뉴질랜드의 기숙학교 학생들이고 한 명은 견습 선원입니다.) 우연히 무인도로 표류하여 구조될 때까지 2 (이)년을 거기서 보낸다는 내용입니다.
The boys are all British save an American boy named Gordon, who is the oldest of them, and two French brothers, Briant and Jack.	그 애들은 고든이라는 제일 나이 많은 미국애랑 브리앙과 자크라는 프랑스인 형제를 빼고는 전부 영국인입니다.
The difference in their nationalities is a key factor in their confrontation over leadership.	이러한 국적의 차이는 주도권을 둘러싼 다툼의 주 원인이 됩니다.
Some of the British boys refuse to acknowledge Briant's leadership as he is French and one day after a ring-toss game which intesified their conflict, they decide to move out and settle in a different place on the island.	몇몇 영국 애들은 브리앙이 프랑스인이기 때문에 브리앙의 지도권을 인정하는 것을 거부했습니다. 그리고 어느 날 고리 던지기 게임을 하고 나서 이런 갈등이 증폭되어 나가서 따로 살게 됩니다.
The story, however, has a happy ending; the boys make up in the end and safely return to their home, more mature and stronger.	그러나 이 이야기는 해피엔딩으로 끝나는 이야기입니다. 결국 애들은 화해를 하게 되고 좀 더 성숙하고 강해진 모습으로 안전하게 집으로 돌아오게 됩니다.
What mesmerized me most in the book was the description about their new life - the items they took from their ship, their cave, what animals and birds they hunted, how they organized their day, etc.	이 책에서 저를 제일 사로잡았던 것은 학생들의 새로운 삶에 대한 묘사였습니다. 즉 배에서 꺼낸 물건들, 애들이 살게 된 동굴, 사냥한 동물과 새들, 어떻게 하루를 보내는지 같은 것들이 흥미로웠습니다.
I especailly liked the part in which the boys took an inventory of the objects from the ship; I love lists.	특히 애들이 배에서 가져온 물건들의 목록이 좋았습니다. 저는 목록을 좋아해요.
