The Democratic nominee Mun Jaein took second place with 48.0%.	2위는 민주통합당 (제1 야당)의 문재인 후보로 48.0%를 얻었습니다.
The President-elect will be sworn in as President on February 25, 2013.	박근혜 당선인은 2013년 2월 25일에 대통령으로 취임합니다.
The president's term in office is five years in Korea.	한국 대통령의 임기는 5년입니다.

The weather of this October has been very clement and spring-like.	올해 10월 (시월)은 날씨가 참 온화하고 마치 봄날씨 같이 좋았습니다.	В этом году погода в октябре очень тёплая и по-весеннему ясная.
So much so that some spring and summer flowers may have mistaken it for their season.	그래서 몇몇 봄꽃, 여름꽃들은 지금이 제철인 줄 착각했나 봅니다.	Поэтому некоторые весенние и летние цветы, кажется, перепутали время своего цветения.
I spotted some royal azaleas and roses blooming on my way home from church last Sunday.	지난 일요일에 교회에서 집으로 오는 길에 철쭉이랑 장미가 피어 있는 게 눈에 띄었습니다.	В прошлое воскресенье по дороге домой из церкви, мне попались на глаза цветущие королевские азалии и розы.

[Korean News] Typhoon Bolaven 태풍 볼라벤

	Typhoon Bolaven 태풍 볼라벤
Today a powerful typhoon Bolaven crossed over the Korean peninsula.	오늘은 강력한 태풍 볼라벤이 한반도를 지나갔습니다.
Due to its geographic location, every summer a few typhoons are bound to pass through Korea.	지리적인 위치 때문에, 매년 여름마다 몇 개의 태풍은 우리나라를 지나가곤 합니다.
When I learned the English word typhoon for the first time, I was amazed at its similarity to the corresponding Korean word taepung.	제가 typhoon이라는 영어 단어를 처음 알았을 때 우리나라말과 (태풍) 발음이 비슷해서 놀랐습니다.
"Which is first," I wondered.	"뭐가 먼저 생긴 거지" 하고 궁금했습니다.
I read somewhere that the English word existed first and then our ancestors (or perhaps the Chinese or Japanese) borrowed it later.	제가 어디서 읽기로는 영어 단어가 먼저 있고 그 후에 우리나라말이 생긴 거라고 하더군요.
As the typhoon Bolaven was forecast to cause considerable damage, the schools in Seoul were closed for today.	볼라벤은 엄청난 피해를 끼칠 것으로 예보되었기 때문에 오늘 하루동안 서울에 있는 학교들은 휴교를 했습니다.
However, yesterday it was hard to feel that a strong typhoon was coming our way; it was such a clear and sunny day yesterday.	그렇지만 어제는 강력한 태풍이 오고 있다고 느끼기 어려웠습니다. 날씨가 참 맑았기 때문입니다.
Even last night while in bed I was wondering whether it was really coming.	어제밤 잠자리에서도 과연 오고 있는 건지 반신반의했을 정도입니다.
Although the typhoon caused some casualties, power failures, and other accidents in some areas, it appears that the typhoon-inflicted damage is not as serious as expected.	비록 태풍이 몇몇 지역에서 인명손실과 정전을 일으켰지만 태풍으로 인한 피해가 예상한 것 만큼은 심각하지 않은 것 같습니다.
(One day later) I stand corrected.	(하루 후) 제가 잘못 알았던 것 같습니다.
The nine-oclock news on the following day reported substantial damage of fisheries of abalones and flatfish, orchards of vines and pear trees, rice paddies, vegetable fields, and greenhouses.	다음 날 9 (아홉)시 뉴스를 보니 전복과 넙치 양식장, 포도와 배 과수원, 논, 밭, 비닐 하우스가 엄청난 피해를 입었다고 합니다.
My mother's one pepper plant was broken by the wind as well. Although it's nothing compared to what other people went through, she's also a victim of the typhoon!	저의 어머니가 심은 고추 한 그루도 바람에 가지가 부러졌습니다. 다른 사람에 비하면 아무 것도 아니지만, 저의 어머니도 태풍의 피해자인 셈입니다.
I hope there's no more damage in my country.	우리나라에 더 이상 피해가 없었으면 좋겠습니다.
